It is possible to create an EYFSTT file from a .ctf created from the E-Profile software. Please be aware that the process will only work with an

E-Profile file for a year group that is complete and finished.

 

The data that will be imported into EYFSTT will be the end of year achievements for each child.

This may be a useful process for school's who have used E-Profile in the past and want to be able to compare their older year groups' FSP end of year results with the year groups that they will be assessing in EYFSTT in the future.

 

Firstly to create a ctf from Eye-Profile load the required year group into the software, then click on Data Files / Backup, choose Create Results Disc For Your MIS. Save this .ctf (XML file) to a location available to the EYFSTT software e.g. a memory stick

 

At this point there are 2 options

1)       Create a new file containing the data for just this year group of children

2)       Import the data from E-Profile into an existing EYFSTT file

 

For Option 1 –

 

Load EYFSTT

Click the green icon in the top left corner to load the File menu

Click New and you will be taken to a Save In box – If necessary browse to the correct location you wish to save your new file and then type in the filename for your new file and click Save

The School Information page loads – enter your LA and school details

The Pupil Data area loads – click to Import data from MIS or CTF then select CTF

Browse to the location of the ctf from E-Profile (XML file) and open it

The XML Processor loads and the pupils' names will be shown

When process has finished click OK then exit the XML processor

You will then be returned to EYFSTT

The file will load, click on the year group on the Home page, this new file will contain the end of year FSP scores for the year group but only limited contextual data

To update the contextual data in the file you should now follow the Support Article - Updating Early Years Foundation Stage Target Tracker files using data from a School Management System

 

For Option2 –

 

Load EYFSTT and load the file you wish to import the data into

Click the green icon in the top left corner to load the File menu

Click on Import and CTF

Browse to the location of the ctf from  E Profile (XML file) and open it

The XML Processor loads and the pupils' names will be shown

When process has finished click to exit the XML processor

You will then be returned to the EYFSTT file which at this stage may not look any different to you

If the data was for a different year group of children compared to the children in the file originally you will need to click onto the Contextual data screen and then return to the Home - Pupil Selection page to refresh the page. You should then see an entry for the newly imported year group in the Year Groups tick boxes.  

This can be useful for comparing the progress or attainment of different cohorts of children.
