Creating and using a Stored Group of pupils in Early Years Foundation Stage Target Tracker  

It is useful to create stored groups of pupils for various reasons. Having set up the groups you can then use them for analysis in many areas of the software, some of which are detailed below. When you are working with a Stored Group of pupils the group name will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen

 

To create the group or update existing groups

Load your file into Early Years Foundation Stage Target Tracker

Load your cohort or class file

Click on the DM, EYFSP or Contextual tab

Click on the Group tab

Click on Group Manager

Select the names of the children you want to go into a group

Click the right arrow key to move the children into the Pupils in Group box

Click Save As and enter a name for the group and click OK

Click Apply to return to EYFSTT with the group

To update a group click on Group Manager

Choose the group to update from the drop down list

Add or remove children from the group as required by selecting names and using the left or right arrows

Click on Save

 

 

To use a group in the DM's, EYFSP or Contextual data screens

From the Home tab with the cohort or class selected click on DM's, EYFSP or the Contextual data button

Click on the Group tab

Choose the desired group from the drop down list

The Column Averages at the top of the columns will now reflect just the pupils on the screen

 

 

To use a group in the various EYFSTT Reports

From the Home tab with the cohort or class selected click on the Reports tab

Chose the desired report

If this is a suitable report to view for a group the group tab will appear

Click Group and chose the desired group from the drop down list

 

 

To use a group in Charts

From the Home tab with the cohort or class selected click on the Charts tab

Click on the Chart Type

The chart will display with the data for the cohort or class

From the Data tab, click on Select Pupils

The Pupil Criteria box will load showing the criteria of the data you are currently displaying

Click Add Group Average

Select the Group from the drop down box

Click Add

Then click OK at bottom of Pupil Criteria box

 

 

To use a group in the Basic or Advanced Quick Assessment screens

From the Home tab with the cohort or class selected click on the Basic or Advanced Quick Assessment tab

Click on the Groups tab

Choose the group from the drop down box

Click back on the Basic or Advanced Quick Assessment tab at the top of the screen

Choose the pupil from the Pupil dropdown list which will contain only pupils from the chosen group.

 

 

To use a group in the EYFS Planner

From the Home tab with the cohort or class selected click on the EYFS Planner

Click on the Groups tab

Choose the group from the drop down box

Click back on the EYFS Planner tab at the top of the screen

Choose a subject from the drop down box

Select one or more of the pupils' names from the Name box on the left.
