It is possible to create a ctf (XML) file from Early Years Foundation Stage Target Tracker which can be used to move children from one EYFSTT file to another EYFSTT file, or alternatively to send pupils' information to their transfer schools.

 

Please note that using this process to transfer children's information will only work if the children have a valid UPN number recorded in the file. If you are a school that doesn't allocate UPN numbers e.g. a Nursery School please use the Export option - EYFS Target Tracker Assessment Data. This will create a file that other EYFSTT software users will be able to import into their software. To create the ctf file first load your file into EYFSTT and select your Year Group or Class.

 

If you are moving just a few children from the file to go into another file it is necessary to filter these children onto the screen first. Do this by going into Contextual Data and then select the children whilst holding down the ctrl key on the keyboard – then click on Pupil Filters – Selected Pupils

 

Click on the green icon which loads the File menu from the top left hand corner of the screen

 

Select Export – then select CTF

 

Enter in the transfer school's LA and DfE numbers, or your own school's numbers if making a file in order to move children into another file in your own school, by typing in the numbers into the small boxes

 

Click on the names of the pupils who are transferring or click Select All as appropriate – Transfer will appear in the Action column

 

Click Export Pupils to create the file

 

A Save In box will load in the default location of My Documents / Target Tracker / EYFS / Exports

 

The file is named accordingly to go from your school's LA/DfE to the transfer school's LA/DfE – click on Save

 

You are then given the option of saving the file to another location, e.g. a memory stick, click Yes or No as desired

 

This file can then be uploaded via the S2S website or imported into another EYFSTT file in your school.

 

If you wish to create ctf files for pupils transferring to different schools repeat the process starting by choosing the new transfer school information

 

Click Close, then OK and Exit to close the XML Processor
