Recommended historical assessment data input into Primary Target Tracker, for new users to the software

There are two types of historical data that we recommend inputting into your Primary Target Tracker files before starting to enter current data.

To generate targets

For KS2 files

We advise entering the KS1 results for the current Year 6, Year 5, Year 4 and Year 3 pupils. This data is essential for generating targets for the end of each year in KS2. The data can be downloaded from the Key to Success website and entered electronically into your Primary Target Tracker files. Please use the Support Article– Downloading Key Stage 1 data from the Key to Success website

For KS1 files

We also recommend entering the end of Foundation Stage Profile results into your files, especially for your Year 1's and Year 2's. For help with this process please use the Support Article - Entering Foundation Stage Profile data into Primary Target Tracker or alternatively if you have the data in the software

E-Profile this can be done electronically. Please use the Support Article - Extracting data from E-Profile and importing it into Primary Target Tracker. This process will generate targets for the children currently in KS1. You may also wish to add Entry Level Assessment scores. Please use the Support Article – Entering Entry Level Assessment data into Primary Target Tracker

To enable progress to be shown in Termly Tracker

Before starting to enter data into the Termly Tracker program it is essential to have entered an end of year Teacher Assessment, or a Test result, if a Teacher Assessment is not available, for the previous academic year for each child. These results should be entered manually into the tracking data columns in Primary Target Tracker, or if you have the data in Excel files use the Support Article - Making PrimaryTarget Tracker files from Excel spreadsheets. This process will enable you to add the data electronically which may save time and be more accurate for larger cohorts.

Use the table below to prioritise the historical data to enter into your Primary Target Tracker files.
