Primary Target Tracker contains a number of useful Target Setting Reports.
These reports are intended to be used to provide the sort of information sometimes asked for by visiting School Improvement Partners.
The Target Setting Reports vary depending on the year group of the children in the file, and are intended for children in Y2, Y3, Y5 and Y7 only.
The reports depend upon the file having appropriate Teacher Assessment data added.
To access these files, load Primary Target Tracker and select the Target Setting menu
Target Setting Reports
The contents of the report varies depending on the year group of the children in the file.
Y2 files will show the percentage of children targeted to achieve each level at the end of the year.
Y3 files will show how the children did compared to their end of KS1 target and their progress in points across KS1.
Y5 files will show the number and percentage of children targeted to achieve each level at the end of KS2 and the number and percentage of children expected to achieve Level 4+ in both English & Maths. The report also includes the number and percentage of children expected to make 2 levels progress in English & Maths.
The Y7 report shows the percentage of children who made 2 levels progress and their average levels and points in Y2 and Y6
The Y6 Targets (Y/N) report for children in KS2
The data is based on the contents of the TAY2 columns and the Target Y6 columns.
It shows the % targeted L4+ in English and in Maths and in English & Maths combined.
It shows those expected to make 2 levels of progress in English and in Maths.
It shows the KS1 English and Maths levels and the KS2 English and Maths targets.
The Lowest 20% are those children achieving an average of 12 points or less at KS1
The summary boxes at the top left of the report summarise the number, and percentage, of pupils targeted to make two or more levels progress in Reading, Writing, English (English calculated as an average of Reading and Writing) and Maths.
The summary boxes at the top right display the number and cumulative percentage of pupils targeted to reach different assessment levels. The average points progress boxes automatically shade pink if the average target is less than 12 points progress and green if it is more than 12. The coloured cells against each of the individual pupils follow the same pattern.
The button with blue text to the left of the screen allows the scale on display to be altered. It is also possible to display the information as Levels, Average Points (where sub-levels other than within level 2 are ignored) and the 2 Point Scale (which includes 2 points for each sub-level).
Essex LA are using this report for schools to return the statutory year 5 targets. To export click the Export ALL Pupil Data button. A file name will be suggested using the school DfE and LA number which should not be changed if the file is to be sent to the local authority.
