You may wish to create a file to return the end of KS1 data to the Local Authority from Primary Target Tracker
It is essential that you have entered the children's summer term Teacher Assessments into Termly Tracker and that this data has been saved back to the Tracking data columns in Primary Target Tracker, do this by ensuring that the option to 'update tracking data on save' is ticked in the File menu in Termly Tracker, then save your file when closing.
Alternatively that you have entered the data into the Yr2 TA columns in PTT, if your school does not use Termly Tracker.
You must enter data for S&L, Reading, Writing, Maths and Science.
Load your file into Primary Target Tracker. You should then use the KS1 Data Entry Wizard. The Wizard is found in the File menu – Key Stage Data – KS1 Wizard (Office 2007 users have a KS Wizards button on the menu bar at the top of the screen)
It is necessary to use the Wizard because not all of the data that you have to return to the LA is recorded on the Tracking Data sheet - for example, the Tracking Data has an overall science level but you are required to return data for all 4 science attainment targets.
You are also required to return P scale data for children working towards Level 1. Boxes will appear in the Wizard beside any children who this applies to. Click the i information buttons for more help with this aspect.
Having completed all of the By Pupil (Mandatory Data) a message 'All required data is present' will display at the bottom of the screen. Save and Close the Wizard
You must also check that your school's File Information (LA / DfE numbers) have been completed correctly, this is also accessed from the File menu – File Info / Data Locations.
You must also check that all children in the file have the following contextual data - UPN number, Surname, Forename, Date of Birth and Gender code (M or F)
**The file must now be saved before attempting to create the CTF**
Next click on File – Output Files – KS1 Data Return.
If you encounter any error messages at the stage please view the Support Article -
Issues that can occur whilst making the KS1 or KS2 data returns for Local Authority or the NAA
If no issues are found the XML Processor will load and will create a file named appropriately to be uploaded on the S2S website or returned by whatever method you have been asked for by your own Local Authority. Do not rename the file.
You will be given the option of saving the file to another location, if required click Yes, if not click No. The files are saved by default to C:\Program Files\TT\XML\Data
Click OK to message indicating Processing Completed Successfully then click Exit to close the XML Processor
