The instructions provided explain how to create graphs for individuals and also averages of groups of children. There are 5 types of graph in PTT and the setup for each is similar.

 

From the Primary Target Tracker Tracking Data view

Click on Graphs – Graph Wizard – Choose the type of graph from the options available

 

The setup screen for Progress, Progression and Spider is the same and the following instructions are for these 3 types of graph.

 

If the graph is required for an individual, choose the child from the Individual Pupils box by clicking on their name

If the graph is required for an average of a groups of children click on one of the Filter Wizard buttons beside one of the Average of Pupils boxes. There are 2 of these boxes so it is possible to compare 2 groups of children if required.

From the Criteria options -

Choose a subject - choosing too many subjects in a Progress or Progression graph may result in a confusing graph

Choose the Data type

Choose the Time Periods - deselect any that you are not interested in

Edit the Chart Title and the Average Legends, if required, to something that describes what the graph will show

Tick if you wish to include the National Quartile data on the graph then click to Display Graph

 

Filter Wizard instructions

Clicking Filter Wizard takes you to the setup screen with all children in the Selected Pupils window. If you just wish to create a graph showing the average of the whole group then click Apply at this point and you will be returned to the Graph Wizard with all children in the Average of Pupils box.

 

Filter Wizard - Pupil Filters dropdown menu - allows the user to choose from a set of in-built pupil filters such as Males, Females, FSM, Inclusion or classes.

Filter Wizard - Stored Groups dropdown menu - allows the user to graph an average of the pupils in any Stored groups the user has set up. For help creating Stored Groups please use the Support Article - Creating Stored Groups of pupils in Primary Target Tracker.

 

NB- It is useful to note that having selected a group of children in the Graph Wizard and Applied them, it is then possible to compare these children to the children not included in this group.  To do this click the Filter Wizard button beside the second Average of Pupils box and then Toggle the Selected pupils to swap the pupils in the Selected Pupils box with those in the Unselected Pupils box, then click Apply. Edit the Legends in the Graph Wizard to annotate the contents of the 2 averages before running the graph.
