It is possible to create a common transfer file (ctf) or XML file which can be used to send pupils' information to their transfer schools

 

It is necessary to enter in the transfer school's LA/DfE numbers into your Primary Target Tracker file.

 

To do this load the file into PTT and enter this information into the column for Transfer School LA/DfE numbers in the Contextual Data – Transfer School Data column, or, if more than one pupil to enter details for, use the Pupil Wizard in the File menu – Edit Multiple Pupils. Select the pupils and enter the school numbers into the boxes then click Update. Close the Wizard when completed.

 

**The file must now be saved before attempting to create the CTF**

 

Then click on File – Output Files – Create CTF(s).

 

The XML Processor will load and will create a separate file for each transfer school you have entered the school numbers for.

 

You will be given the option of saving the files to another location, if required click Yes, if not click No. The files are saved by default to C:\Program Files\TT\XML\Data

 

Click OK to message indicating Processing Completed Successfully then click Exit to close the XML Processor

 

These files can then be uploaded via the School to School (S2S) website. Do not rename the ctf file as the format of the filename tells the file which school the information is intended for.
