Changing the class information in Primary Target Tracker files

At the beginning of a new academic year you may need to update the class names in your PTT files. It is good practice to keep this information correct to enable effective filtering of data by class.

There is more than one way to do this procedure

The information can be updated in the Contextual data view by overtyping the data in the Class column.

You can also use copy and paste in this column to avoid having to type the same class name many times.

Or

You can use the Pupil Wizard from the File menu in Primary Target Tracker

Choose Edit Multiple Pupils

From the Pupils box choose the children going into the same class by clicking on their names to move them into the Selected Pupils box

Type the new class name into the Class box and click on Update

This process may take a few minutes depending on the number of children's details being updated

When finished if you wish to update another class click on Clear Selection and repeat the process

Or

If you have updated the class information in your school management system you may choose to electronically update your Primary Target Tracker files with this information, doing this process will also update any other changed contextual data including adding any new pupils, removing any pupils who have left etc. For help with this process please use the Support Article - Updating Primary Target Tracker files using data from a School Management System
