These instructions enable you to produce a report from SIMS.net to be used to set up your Primary and Foundation Stage Tracker files.
If you are extracting data from SIMS.net for the first time you will need to import the 'template' we have provided into your system. The template may be downloaded from our website www.targettracker.org - Support - Downloads, or imported from any PC running Target Tracker from the following location C/ProgramFiles/TT/DataExtractionKit/Sims.net
To import the template
From the Main Screen in sims.net select Reports > Import
On the next screen click Open and browse to the location of the 'rptdef' template file, this will be the location you chose to save the file from the website or C/ProgramFiles/TT/DataExtractionKit/sims.net (on any PC running Target Tracker) and select the TTPupilExtractV7.rptdef file and click Open.
Click on the Import button to Import the file. When imported close this window.
To generate the report
From the Main Screen select Reports / Run
In the Report window select Focus / Student, scroll down to the bottom of the list and click on the TT Pupil Extract V7 report and then click on the Run button.
This should start Excel. Enable macros if the dialogue box appears **
After a short time the report will appear.
Save the file to your desktop or onto a memory stick, with an appropriate name, for example 'myschool.xls'. Make sure you only use alpha or numeric characters in the filename (i.e. no spaces or symbols such as backslash).
If you are about to go on a Starter Course, you will need to take this file with you. Protect the data in line with your school's or Local Authorities data protection policy.
It will be converted to Target Tracker files on the course.
