Downloading Key Stage 1 data from the Key to Success website

This method will extract data for all children, with a valid UPN number, whose results were returned at the end of Key Stage 1 regardless of which school they were in at the time.


Browse to the Key to Success website at www.keytosuccess.dfes.gov.uk

 

Click the School Login Page link

 

The username and password are the same as those used for the School to School (S2S) website. Your local authority will be able to help if you do not know these details.


Click the Searchable Data link on the right of screen


At the bottom of screen is a box where you can enter the UPN's of the pupils that you wish to search for data for

 

Copy and paste the UPN's for the desired year group or children into this box

 

Click to accept the terms, conditions and instructions

 

Click to search

 

Save the XML file to your desktop or to a memory stick if you are planning to take this file to a PTT Starter Course. Please protect the data in accordance with your school or Local Authority Data Protection policy.  

 

If you are planning to convert the file yourself please continue with the following instructions

 

Process the XML file in the XML processor using the Action CTF to Prim. Use the Support Article -Creating a Primary Target Tracker file using data from a common transfer file (ctf) XML file for help with this process.

 

Load the new PTT file into PTT and save it

 

Integrate the new file, with data from Key to Success, into your existing PTT cohort file. Use the Support Article -Integrating data from one Primary Target Tracker file into another file for help with this process.

 

There may be KS1 data on Key to Success for children in yr 3, 4, 5 and 6
